Coronavirus Health Update

As always, the health and safety of our patients and team have been of the utmost importance during the COVID-19 crisis. When news began to break of the novel coronavirus outbreak in the United States, our office immediately shut down to all routine dental procedures. Since March 16, we have been limiting our care to emergency and urgent dental issues only with no exceptions.

As of today, April 27, dental practices have received word from the American Dental Association and our state and local governing bodies that routine dental and medical procedures will resume at the beginning of May. We understand that for many of our patients, further delaying their dental needs may result in more serous conditions that could require surgery or more aggressive intervention if not taken care of in a timely manner. As healthcare providers, it is our professional and ethical duty to provide care for our patients to prevent these urgent scenarios. Our office will be reopening on Monday, May 4 with new protocols in place in addition to the universal health precautions that our office has always followed:

  • Dedicating one employee, our "COVID Coordinator", to oversee and manage new protocols related to the pandemic crisis
  • Rescheduling all routine care for at-risk populations
  • Seeing less patients per hour while adding additional days to our schedule to accommodate for this
  • Staggering entry and exit of our patients through the office so as to not crowd the common areas. Patients will be escorted from our front door directly into a treatment room
  • Disinfecting of the reception area, check-in and check-out desk, bathrooms, and other common areas every hour
  • Pre-screening, COVID-specific phone calls will be completed with every patient prior to their appointment
  • Temperature check completed on every patient before entering into the office- all patients must have a temperature of less than 100.4℉ to be seen
  • Hydrogen peroxide rinses provided before treatment
  • Removal of all magazines, toys, and unnecessary items from the reception area
  • Practicing social distancing, including no handshaking, hugging, or congregating

We are grateful to each and every patient that entrusts our office with their dental care. As we all know, this crisis and the recommendations given are subject to change on a weekly and daily basis. Our office is committed to serving our patients in a responsible, safe manner and will always follow the advice of our regulatory and governing bodies to do so. Together, and as a community, we will get through this season.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 865-896-3065 with any questions or concerns. We are always here for you.
